STAR is a Texas Medicaid managed care program. Managed care means you get your Medicaid services through a medical plan. You pick the medical plan you want. You also pick a main doctor. This can be a doctor, nurse or clinic where you will get most of your health care.

Founded in 1982, the Houston Food Bank is a certified member of Feeding America, the nation’s food bank network, with a four-star rating from Charity Navigator. We distribute fresh produce, meat and nonperishables and prepare nutritious hot meals for kids in our state-of-the-art Keegan Kitchen.
The Children’s Learning Institute (CLI) is a leader in the development of research-based tools to improve early education quality. In 2014, CLI partnered with state agencies to build a platform that could deliver these tools to a greater number of programs. This platform, CLI Engage, now houses free resources for educators and families of children ages 0-6.
